Sharing November Class & Club Projects!

This month in my classes and stamp club, we made more great projects focusing on the up-coming Christmas holiday!  It's always a challenge to focus only on a stamp set or two so as to not overwhelm.

This adorable card was one that I received as a swap at OnStage 2017 in Salt Lake earlier this month. It uses the wonderful designer series paper called Christmas Around the World from the Holiday Catalog and the stamp set Cookie Cutter Christmas from the Annual Catalog.  The original was made by my friend Diana Tillery (aka the Celtic Stamper).  She had used a toothpick for the banner holder and a Real Red bow-tie instead of the Red Glimmer Paper bow-tie, but the remainder of the card unchanged.  We made this card at my November classes only.
Thanks, Diana!

This beautiful card was inspired by a Pinterest post that one of my club members posted onto our Pinterest Club page.  You can find the inspiration (made by Michelle Long) here.  I used the stamp set, Season Like Christmas out of the Holiday Catalog to make mine.  I love the Vellum textured oval that the tree is stamped onto!  The Softly Falling Textured Impressions Folder for the Sizzix Big-Shot makes the impressive look.

This card was inspired by another great demonstrator, Joanne James.  You can see her creation here.  I simplified the card a bit by using just the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper instead of adding glimmer paper [which we no longer carry :-( ].  The Tags & Trimmings stamp set (here in clear-mount, but available also in wood-mount) is so much fun to use, and the coordinating Trim Your Stocking Thinlits Dies add so much to it!  And, when purchased together, you get a 10% discount.

The final project was this adorable stocking.  The idea came directly out of the  Stampin' Success Magazine that every demonstrator receives quarterly.  It's such a valuable resource, and just one of the perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator!  It uses the same supplies as the above project with the addition of Old Olive card stock, Whisper White Baker's Twine and Dazzling Diamond Glimmer Paper.

Hope you are inspired to create today!

Happy stamping!

Finally done!

Have you ever planned the most awesome project?   Collected everything you'd need to complete it, and then for whatever list of reasons you don't seem to ever get to doing the project?  Well, that is exactly what happened to me.  (I'd like to say it's a rare occurence, but it happens all too often!)

Here is my completed fall wreath.  I had purchased the grapevine wreath at a yard sale a couple years ago, stamped and cut out the leaves, and then just put everything away.  I meant to get to making it!  Well, I'm so pleased with the finished result.

So, if you have an unfinished projects (or two or twenty) take a moment this weekend and work on it.  Such a great feeling of accomplishment!

Happy stamping,

Amy

Throwback Friday Inspiration

Just a few days ago I was looking back over the posts that I've done since I started blogging, and this card popped up.  It made me think of how I could do the same layout, but with current products.

Here is what I came up with, and I really like it even better than the original card.  It uses the Labels to Love stamp set and coordinating Everyday Label Punch.  Red and Silver Glimmer paper give an extra glow to the dots too.

I'm hoping to repeat this throwback idea each week!  Putting it out there to be accountable!
Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping!

More Christmas in August

I've been having so much fun playing with the early release bundle, Carols of Christmas by Stampin' Up!  On this card, I used one of the card front Thinlits to cut out the starry night sky.  It really was the coordinating Thinlits that won me over on this bundle!

This simple card has just a few simple elements.  The die-cut Night of Navy layered onto a piece of Daffodil Delight.  Both layers are placed onto a Whisper White Thick card base.  The large circle was cut using the largest die from the Layering Circles Framelits dies from a piece of Whisper White card stock that had been textured using the Softly Falling TIEF (textured impressions embossing folder).  Wow!  That's a mouth-full.

The tree was cut from Garden Green card stock, and the deer stamped in Early Espresso and cut out.  Both were cut out using the coordinating Thinlits die set.

I needed a small Christmas greeting to add to the front, and Teeny Tiny Wishes came to my rescue.  It was stamped onto Daffodil Delight card stock and then punched out using the Classic Label punch.

Hope you enjoy today's card.  Head on over to my online store to pick it up your own bundle today!

Playing with Ink

Have you ever stepped outside your creative box and tried something new?  That's what I did with the following card.  It's not my usual "style" and to be honest, I'm not sure how much I even like it.  So why am I sharing it with you?  Well, sometimes it just feels good to try something new and share it.

I cut a piece of watercolor paper in half, and then just started putting ink from my stamp pads onto the paper with a large watercolor brush.  In-between coats, I dried the paper with my heat tool.  When I was done, it still needed something to tie it all together so I inked the new Sheet Music background stamp in Basic Black ink and stamped it on the front.

To fit the front of the card, I cut it down to measure 4"x5-1/4", wrapped a piece of Basic Black 3/8" Shimmer ribbon on the front, and placed it onto a Basic Black card stock card base.  I had a die-cut "Happy Birthday" element from earlier this month (cut from Berry Burst card stock using the Happy Birthday Thinlits die) while prepping for classes laying on my desk, and it was perfect for the front of the card.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you'll try something outside of your creative box too.
If you do, share it here in the comments!

Another Happy Birthday Gorgeous! card

Sometimes it's the simple things, right?  I think so.  I received a card that used this layout but in different colors from my demonstrator stamping group I'm a part of.  I loved the simplicity of the card.

The "Happy Birthday" is a die cut that coordinates with this set and is available together as a bundle with a 10% discount when purchased together.  What's difficult to see are the "enamel" shapes on the card.  They are made with the 1/8" handheld circle punch, scrap Calyso Coral card stock and the Fine-Tip Glue pen.  What a great idea using those items to make as many "enamel" shapes as you want.  I'm not sure who created this idea originally, but I'm glad I learned about it.  If it was you, please let me know and I'll give you credit!

Thanks for stopping by.

Christmas in July

It's the middle of July, but Stampin' Up! released early to demonstrator's a Christmas stamp set that will be available to everyone a month early (August) and will be in the new 2017 Holiday Catalog starting September 1st.

Carols of Christmas is available as a bundle with an awesome Thinlits die set that you are going to want to have!  It makes the set!  Though I've had it a couple weeks, I finally had some inspiration last night.  Creative block strikes again.  :-(

As I often will do when I have a creative block, I went to catalogs and looked at images to see if I could C.A.S.E. (copy and share everything) an idea.  This time, the 2016 Holiday Catalog came to my rescue.  This image of the host set was my inspiration.

And this is the card I came up with.  The greeting comes from the stamp set Holly Berry Happiness, a stamp set that was carried into the new catalog from last year's Holiday catalog.

Hope this inspires you to create too!

Happy stamping!

June Class/Club Projects

This month in my classes and clubs we used a brand new bundle from the Wood Textures Suite.  The suite has so many wonderful products, but we mainly focused on the stamp set and coordinating Framelits (which can be bundled together for a 10% discount).

Here is what we made:

Cased from fellow Demonstrator, Sue Prather

Idea cased from fellow Demonstrator, Denita Wright

The ideas I cased (copy & share) I made my own adjustments to with color changes, etc.  I hope you enjoy and find time to create soemthing too!

From the Archives

Today is a hot day in the Denver Metro area.  So, after a couple errands this morning it's a great day to stay indoors with the air-conditioning!  My stamp desk has been in need of some cleaning up, so that is what I tackled first.  I just cannot be very creative with a messy desk.

In looking through samples, I noticed one that I made last year as a swap with my team members.  It seems appropriate to post today, since it's still June and so many weddings and thus anniversaries happen in June.

The stamp set used is Sunshine Sayings  and it has coordinating Sizzix Thinlits too.  This is just one of so many ideas and occasions that you can use this set for.

In the City

When I placed my pre-order from the new 2017-18 Stampin' Up! catalog, I couldn't wait to play with one of the new host sets, In the City!

If you are like me and love creating scenes, then you are going to love this set!  The challenge at MojoMonday this week #500 (and unfortunately the last) was a great reason to pull out this set and create with it.

The photo doesn't show nearly as well as I'd hoped.  The embossed words say "Hope it's a wonderful day in your neighborhood".   It's a lovely day in mine today!

Winding down!

The month of May is winding down, and so are the 2016-2017 catalog and 2017 Occasions Catalog from Stampin' Up!  If you have items that are retiring on your wish-list, you still have a few days left to grab them.  Don't wait though, because so many wonderful products are already sold out.

I've been busy setting aside the stamp sets and accessories that are leaving as well as getting new catalogs labeled and ready for homes.  It's a busy time of year for certain!

I'm also excited to share the projects made in May classes.

The So Detailed Thinlits and coordinating stamp set, Falling for You are on the retired list.  The Falling in Love designer series paper is already sold out.   What a beautiful wedding card this combination makes though.

This card and the following one were desinged by my friend, Diana Tillery.  You can view these and a few other cards using the Eastern Palace Bundle.  It's an awesome sneak peek of the new catalog and include 3 of the new In-Colors.  I added the sticker strips to step it up just a little.

This last card, I designed originally for a demonstrator swap.  I liked it so much we made it at the May classes.  It features both the stamp set and the coordinating thinlits dies that go with the Eastern Palace Premiere Bundle.

Thanks for stopping by.

Another Manic Monday

It feels like a 'manic Monday' around here!  May just started, but when I look at the calendar I realize that it's half-way through the month already.  With the addition of a new puppy to our household,

and continuing to work on finishing our house remodel things are a bit hectic!  Needless to say, I've been a bit behind in posting on my blog and on getting much stamping done as of late.  Here are the projects we made in April at classes & club.

Hope you find some inspiration to go and create something beautiful!  If you don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator, I'd be happy to help you find what you need for those stamping projects.  Visit my store at www.justalittleink.stampinup.net

March Class Projects

For the classes this month, I focused on the Balloon Adventures stamp set and coordinating Thinlits. There were so many great project ideas that I saw that were made with this bundle, but here is what I decided upon.

I've had customers wanting me to share the card-in-a-box for some time now.  This simple card (yes, it really is fairly simple) was designed by fellow demonstrator Kara Golby.  She made a video that I think explains the process very well.

I loved the simplicity of this birthday card that could be for any age or gender depending on the colors used.  The original card idea came from another talented demonstrator, Nikki Spencer.

Finally, I couldn't finish the classes this month without sharing an Easter treat bag.  This cute little bag is made using a piece of designer paper measuring 6 inches by 4-1/2 inches.  A great way to use up some of that paper that I'm sure you too have sitting around.

Thanks for stopping by!
Happy stamping.
