MDS Hybrid Birthday

Ever have one of those times when you know what stamp you want to use to make a card, but you don't have it?  I thought so.  That happened to me yesterday, but the glory of My Digital Studio is that there are hundreds (maybe thousands) of digital downloads at your fingertips to meet that need.

Here is my hybrid card.  I'm pleased with how it turned out, and I think a teenager who loves motorcycles will like it too.  The download is Rev Up the Fun (#135228, $3.95), and matches the images from the stamp set of the same name out of the big catalog.  The great thing is that you can make the images bigger.  Bonus!

I used a template for a 4-1/4"x5-1/2" card and made changes to the images.  I colored in the motorcycle, and it's so much fun!  To make the flash on the side of the motorcycle a different color, I added an oval punch and colored it basic black and the brought the motorcycle image back to the front so that the punch went behind it.  Because my printer leaves a border, I print 4 card fronts (gives me 3 more for later use) then trim to make each 4"x5-1/4".  I can then layer it onto a half-sheet of card stock folded in half (4-1/4"x11 or 5-1/2"x8-1/2").  To fill in the pipes and seats (they are outlined and not colored in when printed), I used markers.  The final touch was to add candy dots along the left edge.  And, because I'm already late with this card, I added the (a little late) stamp from a retired stamp set.  Miss that one!

Thanks for stopping by.  If you'd like more information about My Digital Studio, I'd love to help you out.
