Sharing some swaps

Last night I was fortunate enough to attend a meeting with fellow demonstrator's.  They have been awesome to include me in their group.  We share and stamp together.  It was fun, even though the drive there and back was interesting with all the snow the Denver area received.

Here are the cards shared:

This was my swap.  I've been wanting to include the stamp images from That's the Ticket from the Spring catalog, and I think this card used them well.  The heart doily, and the banners along the bottom of the card are from the More Amore Specialty designer series paper.

January Stamp Class Projects

Here are the projects we made this month at my monthly stamp class.  Everyone enjoyed themselves.  If you missed it, make plans to attend this next month.

This card features the faux-chalkboard technique.  It's all the rage in crafting circles right now, and this card features a simple version of it.  I cased this card idea from fellow demonstrator, Becky Roberts.  I changed the greeting and used the new Pool Party Core'dinations card stock, as well as changing out the accents for things that I had on hand.

Stamp sets:

This cute little treat tote, was inspired by another demonstrator, Debbie Naylor.  I've updated it to use current products and the great Hearts a Flutter bundle from the Spring Catalog.  The More Amore Specialty DSP adds just that extra something.

Stamp sets:

Last, but definitely not least, we made a card using the Madison Avenue stamp set and matching Sychamore Street DSP from the Sale-a-Bration brochure.  These items are only available through March 22nd and only free with a qualifying order or as a Stampin' Up! hostess.
I loved how elegant the card turned out.

January Stamp Club Projects

Here are the projects that my stamp club will be making tonight.  The first project is a card featuring designer series paper from the 2013 Sale-a-Bration products.  Sale-a-Bration starts tomorrow!  It's the biggest sale that Stampin' Up! has every year.  Free products with each $50 in merchandise ordered is just one of the sales.  The others are for hosting a party and for signing up to become a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  How would you like to choose from up to $156.50 in Stampin' Up! merchandise for only $99?

Anyway, here's the first card.  I received a swap at convention this year made by fellow Demonstrator, Kathy Stanton.  I loved how simple the layout was.  I used Linen Thread instead of drawing the line, and added paper piercing around the edges.  I've left off the greeting, but will have the stamp set, A Word for You available so the ladies can put what greeting they want on the card front.

This next card uses products from the new Spring Catalog.  The paper is More Amore Specialty Designer Series Paper, and the small hearts come from the Hearts a Flutter Bundle.  The greeting comes from one of the great Hostess Only stamp sets in the Annual Catalog, Wacky Wishes.

This last project is a blast from the past!  When I attended my first SU! Convention back in 2002, we made a decorated gift bag that used the same idea.  It's a lunch sack, covered with card stock both front and back.  Super simple, and it makes for a nice, quick packaging.

Here I used the Jumbo Stampin' Around wheel, Baby Tees, inked onto a Basic Gray stamp pad.  Each "tee" is then colored in using Stampin' Write Markers.  The small ticket is from a new stamp set in the Spring Catalog called That's the Ticket.

Thanks again for stopping by.

Papillon Potpourri Gift Card Set

For Christmas this year, I wanted to make a gift for my husband's aunt while she was here visiting.  She loves butterflies, so the stamp set Papillon Potpourri was a perfect choice. The above photo shows the box that I made to put an assortment of cards into.

Here are the cards that I made to go into the box.  They were simple cards making use of the new Cloudy Day Textured Impressions Folder for the Sizzix Big-Shot from the new Spring Catalog.

Thanks again for stopping by.  Until next time.....

Trying My Hand at the Faux Chalkboard Technique

I finally had some time to play around with my stamps!  And, although I really need to do more of it, it felt good.  I tried my hand at the popular faux chalkboard technique.  I think there is so much more that you could do with this technique than what I've done, but it was fun.

This first card was done using a stamp set I received at Stampin' Up!'s annual convention this past year.  It's called "I am..." and was the theme of the convention.  I thought the stamp set lent itself to this technique without really adding anything.

This next card, I'm still trying to decide if I like.  The stamp set I used is called Layered Labels.  I used my trusty Big-Shot and the coordinating Framelits die to cut out the image.  The base card is a piece of Raspberry Ripple card stock.  To give it a little interest (and to try out a new tool), I added some texture using the new Borders Scoring Plate for the Simply Scored tool.  It takes a little getting used to since it's not quite the same as the straight lines or the diagonal plate.

Casing from Christmas

It's been difficult for me to get back into the groove of things following the Christmas holiday.  I spent some time today straightening up my stamping room so that I can get some inspiration going.  Here are a few cards that I put together earlier, but didn't get posted.  Although they use a now retired paper stack (Festival of Prints from the Holiday Catalog), you could use any designer series paper to create them.  You'll also note that the layout was one I posted earlier from my Christmas Card Buffet.

Supplies Used:
Festival of Prints DSP
Sassy Salutations stamp set
Elegant Butterfly punch
Bitty Butterfly punch (Spring Catalog)
Fun Flowers Bigz L die & Sizzix Big-Shot
Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch
Basic Rhinestones or Basic Pearls

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you have found a bit of inspiration.
