A Pastel Vintage Vogue

I had some time just the other day to stamp some more with the stamp set that those who attended regional seminars received, Vintage Vogue.

I used the Vintage Vogue stamp set as well as the matching Stampin' Around Jumbo wheel, Very Vintage. Colors used were Bashful Blue, Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac, Apricot Appeal, Pumpkin Pie, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke. Accessories were the Pretties Kit, and So Saffron brads (from the Rich Regals brads), and Bashful Blue taffeta ribbon. To get the 2-tone look on the flowers and leaves, I used the Rock-and-Roll technique.

Clear Mount Stamps

This is a photo I took at the Phoenix Regional seminar I attended in January. I thought I'd share it with you, because I feel it shows the new clear-mount stamp set and a few of the clear-mount acrylic blocks very well.

The stamp set shown in the photo is With All My Heart from the Occasions Mini catalog, page 12. As with all the stamp sets (not including the individual stamps at the back) in the Occasions Mini, you can choose either wood mount or clear mount. A great option either way!

Hubby's Valentine's gift

I'm a little slow in sharing with you the card and small treat bag that I put together for my husband's valentine's day gift. Typically, I do something small and then make a nice dinner unless we have plans to go out to eat.

The card uses a stamp from the Occassions Mini Catalog, Like-O-Meter, #117667, $8.95. The phrases are just way to cute. And, the treat bag uses the Glassine bags (also from the Occassions Mini Catalog, #117228, $6.50 for 25) that I ran through the Sizzix Big-Shot using the Stampin' Up! Perfect Polka Dots Textured Impressions Folder, #117335, $7.95. To finish the bag, I put a strip of double-sided designer series paper (Sending Love Specialty, #117153, $11.95), and yes, it's from the same mini catalog! Finally, I tied a piece of the new 5/8" Real Red satin ribbon and added a stamped heart and message (Love You Much & Teeny Tiny Wishes). The bag was filled with Hershey Hugs first!

M&M Gumball Card

This card was inspired by a presentation made at the Stampin' Up! Phoenix Regional seminar I attended back in January. I wanted to be able to share this really cool idea with my stamp club ladies, but knew it wouldn't be feasible doing it the exact same way as what was presented. She used the flower petals to go around the treat cup, and each one has to be stamped individually, taking a great deal of time per person to accomplish.

Anyway, using the gum-ball machine stamp works very well. And although the card still took a decent amount of time to make, it was a big hit. Here is the card from the inside, so you can see that when you turn the "wheel", the M&M's can fall out without tearing the card apart.

Supplies include:
Stamp set: Something Sweet, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Real Red, Brilliant Blue Classic inks
Paper: Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Yo Yo Yellow, Whisper White
Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Sweet Treat Cups, 1-3/4" Circle punch, Gold Brad, 1/2" Real Red Striped Grosgrain ribbon, Paper Trimmer, Circle Scissor Plus, Stampin' Dimensionals

Simple Valentine

Here's a simple valentine card that I made using a technique I learned at the SU! Phoenix Regional Seminar I attended last month.

It's a simple monochromatic color scheme using Real Red and Whisper White as the neutral. The background is run through the Big Shot using the SU! Perfect Polka Dots textured impressions folder. The new "technique" was making the lace on the bottom of the card front.
I had seen using paper strips that were punched along the edge with the Eyelet Border punch and then "scrunched" to resemble lace before. However, at the regional seminar, we were shown a simpler way to do it.....use the crimper after punching to make the lace come together easier! The stamp is from the "Love You Much" stamp set (#113756, $25.95), and the saying is from the "Teeny Tiny Wishes" (#115370, $36.95).

Simple enough to crank out a bunch in no time at all!

Heart Treat Cups

When Stampin' Up! announced the heart shaped treat cups, I knew I wanted some. But, I didn't purchase the coordinating stamp set that goes with them. Well, what then to do with these treat cups? This is what I came up with. I wanted to put the treat cup on the top of the card and not punch the hole to put it between 2 layers. In order to cover-up the edge of the treat cup, I made some "lace trim".

Here's how:
Take a 12" x 3/4" piece of designer series paper. Punch along one edge using a border edge punch (I used the new Pinking Hearts Border punch), then run it through the crimper. The crimping gives the "lace" the ability to more easily go around the curves of the heart. Then, I used Mini Glue dots to adhere the "lace" around the outside edge of the treat cup. Voila!

The inside of the treat cup has punched hearts inside, but you could just as easily add candy or any other small gift.
